The Following is a list of what I believe to be the top multiplex's in our area.
Default: Century Greenback 16
- It's the one we go to the most but, not what I believe to be the best. I just mean we see about 60 % of our movies here due to a perfect balance of location and quality. It will still make an appearance in my list.
The List:
1. The Palladio 16 Cinemas: Hands down the most quality theater in the area. All digital goodness. All screens seem to be decent size but, I have not been in all of them. Matinee prices run until 6 pm 7 days a week, a major plus on the wallet. They even let you butter your own popcorn. Only downside is it's location. Travel through Folsom is not normally fun.
2. Regal El Dorado Hills Stadium 16: I don't go to this theater that often only because to the travel distance. I would frequent this place much more if it were closer. It is worth the drive if you have the time. It also sits in very prime location in El Dorado Hills. The theater building itself is quite large. Big enough to house an IMAX mini-screen. I have been told this IMAX is cool but, I always prefer the real thing.
3. Century 16 Greenback Lane: Our default theater but, still the best all-around theater in our area. Big Place. Prime location. Good Parking. Quality screens and quality sound. It still has a new theater feeling to it.
4. Century Stadium 14: What can I say about this place? One word: Classic. It just has that old school feel to it. With the domes and all. I kinda miss that about Greenback. This place is still one of the biggest places around and they always seem to keep the place nice. It will always hold a special place with myself and a groups friends that were formally employed here. This place has a lot of memories.
5. Blue Oaks 16: This is the newest edition to the area. Another all digital multiplex. Picture is amazing. Sound is pretty awesome. Should have kept it to 12 or 14 screens. Being in an old Mervyn's, space was limited and it made the smaller room's even smaller. The big rooms are nice but, not that big. They also have their UDC: Ultimate Digital Experience. Like Century's XD screens. Pretty much just sucking more money out of you with these shows at $13.50 a ticket. The only way I will pay that much for a movie is if it's an IMAX movie. Period.
